NAIROBI, November 15, 2023. KimboCare strengthens its ecosystem in Kenya with the addition of two leading players in digital health – Malaica and Wheels For Life – to enhance its maternal health program offerings. Through these partnerships, KimboCare ensures expectant women and mothers have immediate access to online knowledge and care, supporting their well-being between on-site doctor visits.

“We appreciate KimboCare’s trust in us, caring for the women whom they so greatly take care of and look forward to working together”, praises Dr Jemimah Kariuki, CEO & Founder of Wheels For Life. Pascal Koenig, Co-founder of Malaica, adds “We are very much looking forward to working with KimboCare, and showcasing how Malaica adds value for mums to be.”

With telehealth anticipated to surpass 20% of doctor visits by 2030, and potentially more with improved broadband access, hybrid care emerges as a crucial mechanism for the effective continuum of care. Franck Tiambo, Co-founder & COO of KimboCare, highlights the significance of offering hybrid care, adding virtual components to their already existing in-person health programs.

“In running our maternal health programs in Africa, we’ve realized that patients need support between doctor visits, especially after delivery. Through these partnerships, our patients timely get their questions answered by professionals and coaching from experienced mothers through the chat feature”, says Franck. He goes on to emphasize “For us, communities building each other up effect is the icing on the cake. I can’t think of a more powerful way to create self-sustaining impact”.

This is the first collaboration of its kind in Africa’s digital health - multiple players coming together, one platform, one ambition: informed and empathetic care experiences for mothers and their babies. Join us in celebrating this major milestone!
